Does the sun fuse hydrogen into helium or vice versa?

Hydrogen has the smaller, lighter, simpler nucleus.
Helium has the larger, heavier, more complex nucleus.
Hydrogen nuclei are fused to form helium nuclei. 
When that happens, energy is released.
