Area of each tile: 2.5in * 6in = 15 in^2

Area of the back splash: 2.5 ft * 12 in/ft * 8ft*12in/ft = 2880 in^2

Area of the back splash / area of each tile = 2880in^2 / 15in^2 = 192

Answer: 192 tiles
