What drives Malala to speak out at the peace rally is the fact that the Taliban wants to eliminate women's rights. The Taliban believes that females should not get an education, should have to cover up wherever they go, and should always have a male escort. Malala believes this is unfair so with the help of her father she starts a campaign to fight against the Taliban.
